iTunes’ top 10 selling singles and albums

iTunes' top 10 selling singles and albums of the week ending Oct. 4, 2010:
In our single song category we have in first, "Like a G6 (feat. Cataracs & Dev)," Far East Movement. What is the meaning of this song you may ask? One of the singers described to MTV News, "A G6 is not a Gatorade flavor. It's not a car, convertible, four-door. It's not a watch," he said. "But Drake, Drake talks about having G4 pilots on deck, so we said, 'What's flyer than a G4?' Of course, it would be a G6."
It's nice song to listen to because it has a good beat to it. It's one of those songs that would catch my attention. Although again I am not a big fan of Far East Movement, I would recommend this song. My favorite song on this list would be "Just a Dream," by Nelly. When I heard it, I instantly was attracted to it. It's a catchy song and I have been a big fan of Nelly since his famous songs, "Hot in Here" and "Number One".
Singles:
1. "Like a G6 (feat. Cataracs & Dev)," Far East Movement
2. "Just the Way You Are," Bruno Mars
3. "Just a Dream," Nelly
4. "Only Girl (In the World)," Rihanna

7. "Toxic (Glee Cast Version)," Glee Cast
8. "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love," Usher
9. "Dynamite," Taio Cruz
10. "Gonerrhea," Lil Wayne, Drake
Albums:
My favorite album on this list would be "Recovery," by Eminem. Even though it had been released since June 21 it is still on the top 10 albums selling on itunes, which shows it's a really good album. I have always loved listening to songs by Eminem and the meanings behind the songs.
1. "I Am Not a Human Being," Lil Wayne

3. "You Get What You Give," Zac Brown Band
4. "Rehab," Lecrae

Top Music Video Of The Week

The top music video of todays week is "September" by Daughtry according to VH1. The band has released their third single, "September" off their number one platinum album, Leave This Town. This song is about the singer's experiences growing up with his brother in the tiny North Carolina town of Lasker. According to Daughtry there's a line in the song that says "we knew we had to leave this town", which stems from his childhood.
"I knew in order to do anything big with my life I would have to leave that town that I was in."

I personally am not a big fan of Daughtry, but this is actually a really a nice song. I think that we can all relate to this song from our childhood. Having that best friend or sibling you always used to play back then. Although realizing that once you grow older you might have to go separate ways in order to do something big in your life. For example, heading off to a far away college in order to pursue your dream career. We all know that time has to come and it might be hard, but we have to do it for our future. Also about how time can pass by in a blink of an eye, and all that's left is memories from the past. This song is a good song to listen and relax to, to remember about our past childhood because I know it did for me.

Top 10 Songs of iTunes

iTunes' top 10 selling singles of the week ending Sept. 20, 2010:
The top selling single of today's ending week is  "Only Girl (In the World)," by Rihanna. In my opinion I think that it is a good song to listen to. Since I'm a fan of Rihanna I think overall all her songs are superb. This song has some good lyrics and a beat that catches ones attention. Another song that is on this list that I also believe has a catchy beat is  "Club Can't Handle Me (feat. David Guetta)," by Flo Rida. It's a song that you just want to jump up to and dance to. There's just no way you can help sitting still to. A third song that I'd say has an awesome beat to is "I Like It," by Enrique Iglesias. This is another song that you just can't help it, it's a must dance to. This song is most known as doing the fist pump to. I mostly pay attention to the beat of the songs rather than to really listen to the lyrics, and I think anyone can agree with me on that. This is one of the reasons why I think think these songs are listed as the top 10 of the week for their music beats.
Singles:
1. "Only Girl (In the World)," Rihanna
2. "Just the Way You Are," Bruno Mars
3. "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love," Usher
4. "Teenage Dream," Katy Perry
5. "Just a Dream," Nelly
6. "Like a G6 (feat. Cataracs & Dev)," Far East Movement
7. "Love the Way You Lie," Eminem
8. "Club Can't Handle Me (feat. David Guetta)(From "Step Up 3D")," Flo Rida
9. "Dynamite," Taio Cruz
10. "I Like It," Enrique Iglesias

Top Artist Of the Week

The top artist of today's week would have to be Lady Gaga. She is an American singer, songwriter and performance artist.  On Sunday night, Lady Gaga had dominated the VMAs by winning eight awards, including her best video of the year "Bad Romance."
'I was so nervous for tonight that I would let my fans down,' the 24-year-old said tearfully.
She had also announced her new album title called, "Born This Way." The singer gave a special thank you to her, "Little Monsters" for the award. Lady Gaga had beat out artists like Eminem, 30 Seconds to Mars and B.o.B for the award. She had deserved all those awards for all her hard work this year, including her concert tour, "Monster Ball."

I was actually fortunate enough to go to one of her concerts, Monster Ball, back in August. It was absolutely one of the most amazing concerts I had ever went to. It was very entertaining and unique as she is. The concert was completely sold out that day, which shows how big of a star she is. Lots of screaming fans, just going wild for their favorite artist. Just by hearing her name, everyone was going crazy. She had different scenarios that went along to her songs, where soon lead to the scene of a Monster Ball, where she ended it with her famous song, "Bad Romance".

below are some of the pictures I took at the concert.

Top 10 Songs of the Week

This week's top hit song is "Love the Way you Lie" by Eminem featuring Rihanna. This song is about two people who fall in love, but later on they start to resent each other which makes the guy abusive. The girl tries to leave him, but the guy promises that he will never again hurt her again, but it's all a lie. Although knowing that the guy always lies, the girl always comes back to him because she loves him. Coming in second in this week's chart list is Katy Perry's new song, "Teenage Dream."

Here's the rest of the top 10 songs:
3rd: "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz

Escape Into the Music

Music has been described as a form of entertainment in life. Most would agree with me on this because once a favorite song comes on one starts to tap their foot or sing along. Music can help clear your mind and a widely used method to do so. As teenagers, music is a large part of our lives because it is a way for us to escape from school, friends, or family. It is something we are passionate about because we can avoid facing our problems, if only for a while. Blasting music alone in your room isolates one from the world and creates a sacred area to just think. Most music holds a deep meaning that varies by the listener. Personally I like the emotion behind music because it is something that I can relate to, or we can relate to. Music helps me express myself and lets me be who I am.
